Born in Kimball, Nebraska, James Ferguson is an third generation Freemason. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Classical Studies from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and furthered his education with a Master’s of Arts in Museum Sciences from Texas Tech University.

James was initiated an Entered Apprentice on July 3rd, 2010, passed to Fellowcraft on August 9, 2010, and was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on September 27th, 2010, at his mother lodge, James L. Eatmon Lodge No. 294 of the Grand Lodge of Nebraska. James is an affiliated dual member of Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22 since March 18, 2020.

His dedication to youth leadership is evident through his past roles as Past Master Councilor of Fort Sidney Chapter Order of DeMolay and Past State Master Councilor’s Representative for the Nebraska State Chapter of DeMolay receiving the honor of Chevalier and currently serving as an Adult Advisor for Woodlawn Chapter Order of DeMolay.

James is actively involved in Scottish Rite, holding memberships in Alliance Valley, Orient of Nebraska where he was honored by being invested a Knight Commander of the Court of Honor and Alexandria Valley, Orient of Virginia where he will be serving as Master of Ceremonies in the 2024 masonic year. Within Royal Arch, he currently serves as Royal Arch Captain in Mount Vernon Chapter No. 14. His commitment extends to the Knights Templar, as a member of Old Dominion Commandery No. 11.

Outside the Masonic realm, James pursues a career as a Museum Professional, currently employed at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial as the Museum Collections Manager.
