This month we will hold our annual Table Lodge on the evening of Saturday, November l3th, in the dining room of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. Our guest speaker of the evening will be Worshipful Brother Thomas K. Gery, Past Master of Cavelier Lodge No. 80 in Norfolk, Va. I have known Worshipful Brother Gery for many years and have always found him to be a very enjoyable person. Lodge will open at 7:30 PM with dinner being served while the Lodge is called to refreshment. Table Lodge is one of the old customs of the Fraternity which we are glad to see revived.
There will be no stated meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month as it will be Thanksgiving Day. I hope that all of the Brethren will be with their families on that day and take time to thank the Supreme Architect of the Universe for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us. We are blessed to live in a country where we may practice our religious beliefs as we choose. We are blessed to live in a country where we can participate freely in a Masonic Lodge. While some people find reasons to complain about our form of government; remember that you do not see our citizens lined up to leave this country. Take time to give thanks for these blessings. After you have thought of the many blessings you have received, think of your less fortunate Brethren, make out a check for the Masonic Home of Virginia and mail it to our Secretary. At our Masonic Home a dollar goes a long way.
Sincerely and fraternally,
James B. Stone
Worshipful Master

November 26, 1926 - "The Master announced that he expected a visit from Most Wor. Louis A. Watres and requested all Past Masters to retire and upon their return. Most Worshipful Louis A. Watres of Pennsylvania, the present President of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial Association was introduced to the Lodge. Most Wor. Brother Watres was introduced by Most Wor. Charles H. Callahan. Most Wor. Watres spoke very interestingly and eloquently to the Lodge and stressed the very close connection between the Lodge and the Association which "can't be too close", illustrating this by mentioning the election of Most Wor. Charles H. Callahan as one of the Board of Directors and a member of the Executive Committee of the Association."
November 9, 1876 - "On motion, permission was granted Brother Senior Warden to remove the life size portraits of General Washington and Lafayette for the purpose of assisting in the decoration of the Banquet Hall of Old Dominion Commandery K.T. No. 11, provided it does not conflict with a previous resolution of this Lodge not to allow any of the relics of Washington to be removed."
November 23, 1876 - "Wor. Brother Lambert in calling the attention of the Lodge to the death of our late Distinguished Brother Worshipful John Dove, Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Virginia, in feeling terms expressed the love and veneration in which he was held by all masons, offered the resolution which was adopted that the Secretary address an official letter to the Lodge of which the brother was a member expressing the feelings of this Lodge upon the occasion of the death of this distinguished brother. The W.M. directed the Stewards to drape the hall in mourning as a tribute of respect to the deceased brother."
November 9, 1826 - "Resolved that the Secretary be and is hereby requested to have made out and handed over to the Treasurer the notices for the members regular monthly meeting in December and that the Treasurer state upon the bottom of such notices the amount payable on that night by the member to whom the same may be addressed, sealing said notices and handing them over to the Tyler for distribution."
